Facilities at Longhoughton Community & Sports Centre
We have a well-equipped large Function Room at Longhoughton Community & Sports Centre measuring approx 14 metres by 5 metres which can accommodate a wide range of activities. Standard Rate £17 per hour.
The room can comfortably seat 130 persons conference style or 75 persons cabaret style. Tall drinks tables are also available for use to enable part sitting/standing for 115 persons.
The acoustic ceiling makes it perfect for music or choir groups.
Longhoughton Film Club, craft group, carpet bowling, community lunches, Yoga, dance, Pilates, Beaver, Cub and Scout groups are regular centre users and the venue is perfect for children’s parties with plenty indoor and outdoor space for children to play freely. Two large double doors open out onto a seating area overlooking the grass pitches.
There is a small stage which can be used for discos and small bands which can be extended if required for theatrical performances.
There are a range of lighting options to meet differing requirements and to facilitate a mood change for more intimate evening occasions, including weddings. Marquee space is also available adjacent to the centre for special functions. We are licensed for the sale of alcohol.
The Function Room is available at competitive rates which can be found below. Please note that when making a booking, hirers must consider the time required to set up and clear up after the event.
Meeting Room 1 is our medium-sized meeting room and can comfortably seat 18 persons in boardroom format with an additional 16 persons around the sides of the room – perfect for Parish Council or business meetings. Standard Rate £12 per hour.. This attractive, light and airy room proves popular with craft and fine art groups plus those requiring a more calm environment for their activities as well as for more formal occasions. This room is serviced by a kitchen hatch which is a very useful addition should conference or wedding groups in the function room prefer a separate buffet service facility.

Seating 8-10 persons comfortably conference style, this room is perfect for business meetings – for example for employers wishing to conduct selection interviews or for single/small group use. Standard Rate £10 per hour. Wall screen/flipchart stand and paper are also available.

Meeting Room 3 is our larger meeting room and can comfortably seat 30-40 persons – perfect for Parish Council or business meetings. Standard Rate £12 per hour. This spacious room can also be perfect for crafting groups or exercise/yoga for approximately 12 people.

Other Facilities
Longhoughton Community & Sports Centre has a natural play area which is open during all daylight hours free of charge for the enjoyment of the local community and visitors. The facility is suitable for all age groups up to ten years. Parents are required to supervise young children at all times.
A free car park which can accommodate 60 vehicles at any one time is available to all users. Due to Highways Agency restrictions, no coaches or buses are allowed in the car park as there is insufficient space for such vehicles to turn safely without reversing. Consequently, parties arriving by this method of transport are required to be dropped off and picked up on North End, Longhoughton and to make the remainder of the journey on foot (1 minute walk).
We have a well-equipped kitchen suitable for the preparation of both hot and cold food & drinks and is available to all community building hirers at no extra charge – facilities include 6 ring electric oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, hot water dispenser, hand-wash facilities and professional dishwasher. Sometimes multiple bookings will necessitate sharing the kitchen on an informal basis unless specifically reserved for a large event e.g. a birthday party. Longhoughton Rangers F.C. will have priority (but not exclusive) access on match days to serve supporters with refreshments. Our Bookings Manager will always inform you if another user is using an adjacent room at the same time to ensure your maximum comfort.
The changing rooms (two FA Standard 16 person rooms plus two single Officials rooms) are intended to support football activity on either Synthetic Turf Pitch (STP) or grass pitches and will consequently be reserved for this priority use especially on match days. The rooms are equipped with benches, toilets, hand basins and communal showers (excepting Officials which have personal facilities) and are lockable by each user group if required. There may be occasions however when the changing facilities are not in priority use and can be employed for other activities e.g. drama groups or entertainers using the stage in the Function Room or as temporary storage.
