About Us

Longhoughton Community & Sports Centre is a modern and spacious community venue in the heart of Longhoughton village just minutes from the Northumberland coastal path and on the doorstep of an area of outstanding natural beauty (AONB). The community and sports centre was built with the funding assistance of:

The Football Foundation; former Alnwick District Council; RAF Boulmer Non-public Funds; Longhoughton Parish Council; Sir James Knott Trust; The Joicey Trust; Longhoughton Rangers YFC; Community Action Northumberland; Sports Awards for All.

The centre aims to offer a friendly and welcoming space for community and sports activities. Internal facilities comprise of a large function room with small stage and two meeting rooms suitable for a wide variety of functions and activities – all serviced by a well equipped kitchen, toilets and baby-changing facilities.

Externally, there are two full size grass pitches and a flood-lit seven-a-side synthetic turf pitch (STP) supported by FA standard changing facilities for players and officials. This is the home of Longhoughton Rangers Football Club. There is also a natural play area with seating which is suitable for children aged ten and below. Free flood-lit car parking is also available for up to 60 cars including 6 disabled person bays. The building entrance has ramp access and is single storey.

LC&SC Trust is a registered charity (charity number 1133597) and is managed by a group of volunteer trustees who work hard to make the centre accessible for everyone in the community to share and enjoy. We are proud to hold the Hallmark 3 Award which is a national quality standard scheme for village halls, giving confidence to all our users that LC&SC Trust is fully compliant with the requirements of its charitable status. The centre also has Warm Hub status.
